Course Aims
The aim of this course is to give learners the knowledge and skills required to appreciate the different disorders associated with mental health and will greatly assist learners to provide safe, inclusive and appropriate care.
The course is aimed at all staff involved in the delivery of healthcare or support in any type of health and social care setting for adults with a mental health disorder.
Learners are to undertake written assessment.
Course Content
On successful completion of this course the learner will be qualified to:
- Operate within the legal boundaries with regard to caring for people with a mental health disorder.
- Recognise the six main types of mental illnesses disorders including:
- Depression – including bi-polar, post-natal & post-partum psychosis, Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Eating Disorder.
